THE STORY

Portside Hat Company was born from a lifelong love of the coast (and hats). I was raised in a small seaside town in Massachusetts and later found home in Charleston, South Carolina. Along the way, I pursued my law degree, graduating from law school before setting out on new adventures that continue to shape me, whether that’s surfing, sailing, running, or building new businesses.

 

I set out to create a brand that captures the spirit of both shores and everyone I have met and things I have experienced in between. Portside blends the classic nautical charm of New England with the relaxed, easygoing style of the South.

 

Portside was made for those who feel most inspired by the water (and love a good hat)—whether it’s sunrise boat rides, stretched-out beach days, or enjoying the day surrounded by friends and family. 

 

But more than just coastal style, Portside is rooted in friendship and family. I have a hat collection of over seventy hats, each one with a distinct story and memory attached. Portside is my way of turning those stories into something you can wear.

 

Every design is inspired by the people closest to me. Every face wearing Portside Hats in our photos is someone close to me. The ideas behind each product are sparked by conversations, shared memories, and the lifestyle we live together. This brand wouldn’t exist without their creativity, encouragement, and expertise.
